PROGRAMS OFFERED BY OUR PARTNER "HUNGARIA CONCERT":

Folklore performances

There are not many countries beside Hungary, where the art of folk-dancing is at such high artistic level. There exists even a college for studying Hungarian folk dances.
The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, the Danube Folk Ensemble and Rajkó Folk Ensemble are three of the best professional Hungarian folk ensembles with the longest tradition (formed in 1951, 1957, and 1952), which have performances all around the country and abroad.
All the three of the ensembles consist of 30 artists. Their choreographies are based on authentic dances. Some of them were collected in isolated villages and date back hundreds of years. Through the performed dances you can get a broad view of the music, dance and costume heritage of Hungary and the Hungarian inhabited areas.

Every concert starts at 20.00, and consists of two parts, 40-45 minutes each, plus an intermission.

Danube Symphony Orchestra with Cimbalom Show

Mozart, Liszt or Gershwin for symphony orchestra and Hungarian cimbalom (hammer dulcimer)?
Outside Hungary it sounds unusual to include a typical Hungarian folk instrument, the cimbalom to perform with a symphony orchestra, but in Hungary the beauty of this instrumental combination has been known since the 19th century. Join us for an unforgettable musical travel á la hongroise through the most beautiful classical melodies ever.

The Danube Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1961. And since then they have given many performances both in Hungary and abroad. Their repertoire covers almost every musical style from the Baroque music to music of the 20th century.  They perform the most famous classical melodies combined with typical Hungarian instrument, the Cimbalom (Hummer Dulcimer). It is a unique opportunity to hear most popular masterpieces of classical music interpreted by cimbalom and symphonic orchestra in a virtuous way which can be enjoyed only in Hungary.
Besides their permanent conductor András Deák, they are often conducted by other Hungarian and foreign conductors. They have given performances in Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Italy.

The program of the concert and the orchestra is expanded with a world-known typical Hungarian instrument Cimbalom (concert hammer dulcimer). This instrument is played primarily with beaters. It is equipped with a heavy frame for more dynamic power and added many strings courses for an extended range of sounds and a damper pedal to allow more dynamic control.

Through the instrument combination of a cimbalom and a symphonic orchestra you can enjoy the most famous classical melodies in impressive Hungarian style.

Jewish Cultural Heritage in Budapest

Budapest has the biggest Jewish community in Middle - Eastern Europe, with an active religious, artistic and historical heritage. Through centuries the Hungarian and Jewish history has been so entwined that it is almost inseparable. Jews played and play an important role in the country’s economical, cultural and political life.
Our company was created in 1995 and since then we try to show our visitors the Hungarian and Jewish culture in our country. Our English speaking guides are well trained, and have the necessary qualification to help you understand the Jewish past and present in Hungary and in Budapest. Our tours are in one (English) language, and we try to keep the sightseeing tours with small groups of people. To customize your needs we prepared three types of heritage tours.
